'Half Girlfriend' Trailer is the Reason Why You Don’t Have to Watch the Film

The trailer of Half Girlfriend is out today, which is a movie adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's bestselling novel, Half Girlfriend, released in 2014. Starring Arjun Kapoor (as Madhav) and Shraddha Kapoor (as Riya), the film is directed by Mohit Suri (of Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain fame).

After seeing the trailer I definitely got many reasons why I don’t have to watch this film. Though, the novel was also not that great, but still it became best seller because of people like me who just read his novels to criticize it. But, the trailer seems to be even worse. First of all, Arjun Kapoor doesn’t fit in the character of Madahv, be it fake Bihari accent or his expressions. Nothing excited me to tolerate him for 2 hours in a movie. And Shraddha Kapoor looks no different from her previous movie trailers; be it Ok Jaanu or Ek Villain, same smile, same tears and same acting, I couldn’t see any difference in her.

In fact, Vikrant Massey could have been a better choice for Madhav then Arjun Kapoor. The movie is set in Delhi University's St. Stephen's College, where the story revolves around two characters Madhav and Riya who belong from two different worlds with basketball as common string that binds them, but somehow Riya ends up being Madhav’s ‘Half Girlfriend’ which is 'Dost Se Zyada, Girlfriend Se Kum'. The movie hits the theatre on May 19. Make sure you have better plans instead of wasting it on this film.
