Anushka Sharma’s Wedding Lehenga and the Story behind it

The buzz around Virushka’s Wedding didn’t seem to calm down as the mainstream media and even the social media just went on guessing; when it will happen, where will it take place and how. And most importantly, who will be the lucky designer who would be designing the wedding outfit for the couple. This entire buzz came to rest, when the couple finally tied the knot on 11th December in a secret ceremony away from their native land, amidst magnificent greenery in Florence, Italy. Though, they both broke million hearts, but sooner or later it was meant to happen.

The man behind the breathtaking look of the couple was Designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, who lived up to all the hype and can now be called the legit bridal designer! Actor Anushka Sharma picked a breathtaking Sabyasachi lehenga for her destination wedding with cricketer Virat Kohli.
Instead of going with traditional wedding colors Anushka Sharma opted for pastel pink shade. She wore a pale-pink lehenga with delicate floral embroidery by Sabyasachi, and that blush on her face made her look even prettier than ever. On pale pink color lehenga, hand embroidery was done majorly in pink, mild green, yellow and peacock blue colors. This delicate embroidery was then embellished with silver-gold metal thread, pearls and beads, which gave the lehenga the perfect look.  Sabyasachi shared on his official Instagram account, that it took 67 karigars, 32 days to hand embroider the lehenga in silk floss, which bore motifs of exotic birds and butterflies.

To achieve that royal wedding look Anushka styled her lehenga beautifully. She wore garland made of fully bloomed, pale-pink and yellow roses to complement the colors of her lehenga which added to her overall regal look. And in terms of jewellery, with her exquisite Lehenga, Anushka went for uncut-diamond choker, a mathapatti and jhumkas in jadau, pearls and pink spinel designed again by Sabysachi to achieve that imperial look.

Though, the look appeared to be very simple and soft but it was actually achieved by going with the basics and playing around with colors. Anushka Sharma was looking Royal not gaudy and that enhanced her persona as well.

I loved her wedding lehenga and couldn’t take my eyes off her and may be that was the reason Virat looked even more in love than ever before.

Love,

That She Said

DIY: Convert an Ordinary Top Into a Trendy Cold Shoulder Top

We all would agree that these days cold shoulders are extremely trendy. From party gowns to lehenga, from dresses to top and even shirts come with cold shoulder sleeves. But sometimes we either don’t get desired design or the fabric. I also scanned a few e-commerce sites for cold shoulder top, but I couldn’t find any. Some had size issues or some didn’t have the design I was looking for. So finally I transformed one of my old tops into a new trendy cold shoulder top. And thought if I am facing this issue than there must be others who may have the same concern so that is why I am sharing a step by step guide to how you can transform a normal top into a cold shoulder top. Step 1: Select a top you want to turn into Cold Shoulder Top Step 2: Find a matching cloth of half meter from which you can make the sleeves Step 3: Divide the cloth into two rectangular parts. Width should be 2 inches more than the desired width of the sleeves and length can be twi...

Wandering Tales: Kerala – A Treat to The Eyes (Part 2)

In part 1 you read about my journey through beautiful Munnar and Thekkedy.  So, moving forward to my next destination which was known as the “Venetian Capital” of Kerala or the “Venice of the East”. Alappuzha (or Alleppey) Alleppey is best known for houseboat cruises along the rural Kerala backwaters, a network of soothing canals and lagoons. I rented a houseboat for a day. During day time it was so hot to sit on the deck of the boat; so I kept that plan for the evening which was then ruined by mosquitos. Still, I am glad I opted for an AC houseboat in which I could easily enjoy the serene backwaters without getting irritated from rising temperature and humidity.  Alleppey is a small village where people are settling beside the backwaters and all their commuting is done through water only. Instead of staying there for the whole day one can easily be there for 4-5 hours. As that much time is sufficient to appreciate the nature and its beauty aro...
